My name is Sierra and I'm an addict...I have an addiction to TEDTalks (not where you thought that was going was it? *smirkface*).
For those of you who don't know what that means, TED is a nonprofit organization that hosts conferences which brings together the best and brightest from every profession to focus on "Ideas Worth Spreading." these conferences happen all around the world with talks about everything from the latest technological developments and scientific explorations to comedy and storytelling. At these conferences the "best and brightest" give TEDTalks, speeches dedicated to the spreading of their professional ideas.
So... essentially I have an obsession with the world's leading minds. Or at least watching/listening to their talks. But what, you ask, does this have to do with me, my blog, or anything?
As I've attempt to absorb their brilliance through my computer - which unfortunately hasn't happened yet - I've realized something about myself, my life, and the world I live in.... Things need to change. I need to change, my life needs to change, and I want to do something to change the world... even if that only means changing the world of one person (that'd be more than enough). But before I can make changes (at least positive ones) in someone else's life, I first have to start making changes in my own.
If you're looking for someone who is going to climb Mt. Everest on a whim that's not gonna be me (and if you think I'm kidding please leave this site and do not return because I promise you'll be greatly disappointed).
However, if you're looking to follow someone through small changes (which hopefully become big changes) then you're at the right place. As long as I don't give up on this like I've given up on so many other things in my life... hopefully I'm not wrong in my assumption that I'm the only person who's quit something before it's finished. If I am, then I'm screwed already.
I promise the journey will be full of sarcasm, tangents, emotions, inspiration, sarcasm, frustration, motivation, humor/wit (which might translate to some as sarcasm, but I've already said that twice so I didn't want to get repetitious), and truth. As well as any other random thing I can think of. I aim to never create a dull moment for you while you're reading (however, if I fail, forgive me and remember I'm trying to change).
And so begins my adventure! Stay excellent!
Sincerely,
S. Lorenz.
